As many of you may have noticed, I have not produced a lot of content lately. I slowed down to gather my thoughts, and process what was going on in my life. While doing so, I took some time to focus on meditation and building my mental health. During this time, some things happened that were unexpected. I gained new relationships and lost some as well. After obtaining new employment, I was let go due to ownership changes. Those that are close to me know that this was one of the hardest things to deal with. I just started this job and was enjoying the luxury of having stability. The new company decided to let us go to bring in seasoned employees. As I started to ponder on the thought of being unemployed, I became a little shook up. My entire routine was off. After all, I did not have any steady income to pay my bills.
As my mind started to drift off on the “What If’s”, I had to mentally shut down so that I could think. Once I begin to meditate and understand what was going on, I realized that this was all apart of my destiny. With every step in life, there is a lesson. As I take flight on the journey of life, I try to focus on the purpose of me being in certain places at certain times. I began to understand that in order for you to obtain better, you have to appreciate the small things first. My job was not the best job, but I appreciated going there every day because of the relationship I had with my team.
Wherever life takes you, identify the purpose of being in a particular place at a specific time. No matter what happens, it is for your better good. We seem to focus on how we could have changed things rather than how we can change our situations. As long as we are above the ground, we are able to still accomplish anything we want to achieve. It is so important to understand that your journey is not going to be the same as everyone else. What you may see as being easy, may be difficult to someone else. Never underestimates someone’s struggle. We should encourage each other because we all have to contribute in order for the world to exist.
Giving up should never be an option for anyone. While attending church one Sunday, my pastor said, “Just because a door closes on you, doesn’t mean you were not supposed to walk through it. It just means maybe you’re supposed to go in another way.” I thought this was phenomenal because we all wanted to give up at some point. When this happens, it means you need to reroute your thinking. You have to mentally see something before it can physically happen.
Negative thinking can prevent us from obtaining what we want. We tend to only focus on the minimalistic things, and not expanding our minds to the possibilities. I can admit that I have let situations get the best of me. Sometimes we just need to breathe. Realizing that everything will be okay is one of the most important things all of us must do. Once we realize that everything will be okay, it will start to work out. Have you noticed how easy it is to see a positive outcome from someone else’s situation? Often times, we have advice for everyone else, but struggle with advising ourselves. We have to learn how to deal with our mess before we can clean up for someone else’s.
When trying to get over the difficulties of life, sometimes you have to cry it out. It is okay to have your moment and to feel sad. Every human is allowed to have emotions. If we do not deal with those feelings, then we are subject to preventing ourselves from being happy and growing. One of the most important things is to be realistic with yourself. If you cannot be honest with you about your feelings, then you cannot be honest with anyone. Faking it causes those feelings to continue coming back. Deal with it, stay in the moment just to reflect, and move forward. Continue to understand that your purpose is beyond your current situation.
I want to leave you with this, it’s going to get better. Do you remember when you were in that last situation, and it felt like it was never going to end? It seemed like you were waiting for something to happen, and nothing was taking place. When you look back, you cannot believe that you were stuck on that. The same thing is happening now. As soon as you let go, the easier it will be. Control what you can, and let go of what you cannot. Once you do that, you will have more power than ever before.
